Andrew Adams, KSL Newsradio The hand of God is back pouring coffee, just not to the Angel Moroni. A Taylorsville coffee shop near 5600 South and Redwood Road is back at it. It's got a new T-shirt following up on a controversial one that drew the ire of the LDS Church over copyright infringement.
"We did get rid of the image of Moroni," says Just Add Coffee co-owner Van Lidell. He says this version of the T-shirt should keep them out of trouble with the LDS CVhurch. "Just the hand and the coffee being poured into a funnel or what have ya," he says.
The new T-shirt is already going over well with customers. The original design featured the Angel Moroni sipping heavenly joe through his trumpet and the hand of God was pouring, sort of along the theme of the Sistine Chapel.
