SALT LAKE CITY -- The Colorado Rapids spoiled Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Chris Seitz's Major League Soccer debut with a 2-0 victory on Monday night.

Forward Roberto Brown opened the scoring in the 71st minute, beating his defender and then Seitz from 12 yards out. It was Brown's second goal of the year.

Real Salt Lake (0-2-2) then made a costly mistake that led to Colorado's second goal. Defender Jack Stewart passed the ball back to Seitz, who picked it up with his hands in the penalty box.

The Rapids (2-1-1) were awarded an indirect free kick for the illegal pass back and midfielder Kyle Beckerman scored on a rebound. Herculez Gomez took the free kick.

Real Salt Lake switched to Seitz, the No. 1 pick in the MLS Super Draft, after starter Nick Rimando allowed four goals in a 4-0 loss to Chivas on April 21.
