(KSL News) A crash that killed eight illegal immigrants has people in southern Utah calling for more help from the federal government. Residents of Blanding want an immigration office opened in the southern half of the state in order to intercept more of the smugglers bringing immigrants through the area.

Those eight people killed in a crash outside of Bluff earlier this month were all being smuggled into Colorado to work.

Senator Orrin Hatch has previously requested an ICE office be put in the lower half of the state, but the plan was rejected by the Senate.
