Press releaseSALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor today announced that Jazz players Sundiata Gaines, Othyus Jeffers and Kosta Koufos will join 2010 draft picks Gordon Hayward and Jeremy Evans in headlining the team's mini-camp in preparation for the 2010 Orlando Pro Summer League. Camp is scheduled to open Wednesday, June 30 at RDV SportsPlex in Maitland, Fla. and will run through Sunday, July 4.
Also expected to participate in camp are 2008 Jazz second-round pick Tadija Dragicevic (drah-DEE-juh-vich) and 2009 Jazz training camp invitee Paul Harris. In addition to Gaines, Jeffers and Koufos, the Jazz roster features five other players with NBA experience: James Augustine (2006-08), Jermareo Davidson (2007-09), Thomas Gardner (2007-09), Demetris Nichols (2007-09) and Bernard Robinson (2004-07). Rounding out the Jazz roster are D-Leaguers Rod Benson and Darian Townes, and rookies Tyrese Rice and Dominic Waters. The full Jazz roster is attached.
The Jazz will play five games in the 2010 Orlando Pro Summer League (OPSL) at RDV Sportsplex from July 5-9. In addition to the Jazz and host Orlando Magic, the eight-team OPSL will feature the Boston Celtics, Charlotte Bobcats, Indiana Pacers, New Jersey Nets, Oklahoma City Thunder and Philadelphia 76ers. The Jazz will open the summer league schedule vs. Charlotte at 11 a.m. MT on July 5. All 20 games of the OPSL will be broadcast live on NBA TV and will also be available online through the NBA Summer League Broadband subscription service at www.nba.com/summerleaguebroadband. Box scores, game recaps and cumulative statistics from each Jazz game will be available by visiting www.utahjazz.com.
Due to space limitations at RDV Sportsplex, the OPSL is not open to the public and will be open only to the media and professional team/league personnel.
