(Photo courtesy UDPS)BOUNTIFUL -- A crash on Interstate 15 near 1000 North in Bountiful killed a man Monday.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the driver of a red Lexus was going extremely fast around the curve when he lost control. His car went into the median backwards and slammed into the base of an overhead sign.
The 27-year-old driver from Syracuse died at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
Troopers don't believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Traffic on I-15 was backed up for several hours while UHP investigated the scene.
