(KSL News) -- Old Glory was flying today, raising awareness and money to prevent child abuse.

Fourteen hundred American flags lined the "Healing Field" in West Jordan. They represent the number of U.S. children killed each year as a result of abuse or neglect.

In the past five years 32 Utah children died from abuse. Special flags flew in their honor.

The flags are being sold, and the money will go to Utah charities focused on preventing abuse.
