(KSL News) A car thief got away from police in West Valley this morning.
Officers say a homeowner left the SUV running in the driveway and then went back inside the house. That's when a man jumped in the vehicle and took off.
About 10 minutes later, a police officer spotted the stolen SUV nearby and tried to pull the driver over. But the suspect sped up and then stopped the vehicle and jumped out.
Officers tried to catch up with him on foot, but he got away.
