(KSL News) -- A fatal hit-and-run in Ogden remains unsolved. Sunday morning, a car hit a man who was crossing 22nd Street and Wall Avenue.
A witness says the driver stepped on the brakes then took off, and then pulled in to a nearby Chevron parking lot before taking off again.
Police say had the driver stopped, she probably wouldn't be facing any criminal charges.
Lieutenant Scott Sangberg said, "We could probably rectify that decision a little bit if she would come forward."
Police believe the victim is 53-year-old Jaime Ortega. They say he was homeless and possibly drinking the night he died.
The driver is described as a heavy-set woman with blond hair, driving a blue or turquoise Hyundai Tiburon.
