Utah College Students Pay Tribute to Virginia Tech Victims

Mary Richards, KSL NewsraidoColleges around Utah are planning tributes and vigils to honor the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings. Many students are writing notes to send.

A student is thanked after writing a message on posterboard to send to Virginia Tech. The posters are up at the student union during a concert. Nearby hangs a Virgina Tech sweatshirt.

"We encourage them to come in, get a ribbon and just wear it all week. Just to support the students are Virginia Tech," says Union Programming Council Executive Director Eric Hu. Hu says the shootings hit many college students hard.

Weber State students are signing flags to send, Westminster has an online condolence book.

Campuses around Utah are fundraising and holding moments of silence. The U will hold an interfaith prayer vigil Thursday at noon.
