(KSL News) It was an emotional High 5 this morning as a father thanked his son's aid at school for her time and effort.
Maren Abercrombie, who goes by the name Cissy, works at a charter school called the Open Classroom. That's in the Salt Lake School District. She's a full-time aid for a 9-year-old student named Easton Hofheins. Easton's dad Joe is the one who nominated her for a High 5.
"We just appreciate everything she does," Hofheins said. "She loves and cares for these kids. As a parent, having her here every day with my son, I just know he is in good hands."
Abercrombie said, "I love being here every day. This is the best thing I've ever done in my life. It's so rewarding. It's one of those things that makes life worth living. I'm just so grateful to be here every day. It makes me so happy."
Maren received a $50 gift certificate from Sonic Drive-In and a high five from our Coco Warner.
