Greg Neft, KSL NewsradioPolice in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, say they think a Layton woman and her baby were killed in a murder-suicide with her boyfriend.
People who worked with her remember her fondly. The owner of the Burger Stop in Layton, where Summer Pettit used to work, says he saw signs of trouble. Travis Theabald says, "Even at a young age of 16, they had a rocky relationship."
Theabald says Pettit herself was a wonderful person. He says, "...definitely brought smiles to everybody's faces, never had a bad day."
And her former supervisor, Roxanne Pethroff, says her death has affected her deeply. She says, "It's like at night, I can't sleep right now, because I'm thinking about her."
The restaurant will hold a car show next Wednesday evening in Summer's honor to help battered women.
