(KSL News) Barack Obama and John McCain go head to head for the first time tonight. The showdown on the campus of the University of Mississippi gives the candidates the opportunity to present themselves to voters.

The match up between John McCain and Barack Obama gained more drama when McCain said he didn't plan to appear. Two political insiders weighed in with us on how that development could impact the debate and the overall race for the White House.
