SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz says the U.S. should withdraw its troops from Afghanistan.

The Utah Republican's comments on Monday came a day before President Barack Obama is set to outline his Afghanistan war strategy in a nationally broadcast address from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y.

The strategy will include deploying thousands more American forces to Afghanistan, clarifying why the U.S. is fighting the war and laying out a path toward disengagement.

Rather than sending more troops to Afghanistan, Chaffetz says the U.S. should use human and electronic surveillance to allow special forces to kill those who actually threaten the country.
