(KSL News) -- A soldier with Utah ties has died in Iraq.
A sniper shot Army Specialist Stephen Kowalczyk while he was on patrol near Baghdad last week.
His family says Kowalczyk traveled the globe, but he worked in Utah and still maintained contact with friends here.
A Utah minister will preside over Specialist Kowalczyk's funeral in Colorado next week.
