(KSL News) Today Utah Valley State College is one step closer to becoming a university.

Lawmakers approved a measure during the 2007 Legislative session that grants the college university status. Today Governor Huntsman will sign that bill.

The change allows the school to add graduate programs and more faculty.

UVSC officially becomes Utah Valley University on July 1, 2008.
