(KSL News) The Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training Council is expected to meet in St. George today to determine if the officers who patrol a polygamist enclave should be stripped of their badges.

Officers in Polygamous Border Towns May be Stripped of Badges

The officers patrol the border towns of Colorado City and Hildale, home to the polygamous Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The officers are accused of being more loyal to church leader Warren Jeffs than they are to their police oath. Attorneys for the officers say the accusations are unfounded, and the officers have repeatedly demonstrated loyalty to their jobs.
