(KSL News) A Utah woman may have a bit of Irish luck.
Rhea Barnett celebrated St. Patrick's Day and her 109th birthday today. Family and friends in West Jordan marked the milestone with Barnett, throwing her a two-day party.
"My son came," Barnett said. "My daughter came, and all my grandchildren from miles around."
"We thought, 'Oh, if we can get her to her 100th birthday that will be so much fun,'" her granddaughter Denise Lyday said. "And we did. Then 105, and next year, 110. We're just happy to have her here for 109."
Her secret to living almost 110 years? "I don't know, I guess being ornery," Barnett said.
Governor Huntsman honored her last year as Utah's oldest citizen. Barnett has outlived three husbands and has more than 300 descendants.
