SALT LAKE CITY — One of the most athletic underclassmen in the state of Utah has made his college decision.

Sky View football and basketball standout Mason Falslev has committed to Larry Krystkowiak and the University of Utah, he announced Saturday via Twitter.

"They have a great basketball team and it’s close to home. It’s just awesome," Falslev told 247Sports. "Utah offered me and they are going to put me in a place where I can compete at the highest level I can and that’s what I want."

The 6-foot-3 junior-to-be averaged 20.4 points, 3.8 assists and 5.9 rebounds per game for the Bobcats as a sophomore in 2017-18, the same season he led the Sky View football team to the Class 4A state semifinals.

In 12 games on the gridiron, Falslev, a two-year varsity player, caught 49 passes for 919 yards and 10 touchdowns, added 132 yards and a touchdown on the ground, and even threw for a touchdown in the Bobcats' high-octane offense.

Falslev, whose cousin JD Falslev played football at BYU, picked the Utes over interest from the Cougars and hometown Utah State.

Players are not bound by verbal commitments until they sign a National Letter of Intent during their senior season, but Krystkowiak is getting a lot of athleticism from the Class of 2020.
