OGDEN — A man died early Tuesday morning after being struck by a vehicle, police said.

A 67-year-old man was walking against traffic at 2500 Wall Ave. about 5:45 a.m. when he was struck by a southbound vehicle, according to Ogden Police Lt. Clint Christensen. The vehicle had a green light at a nearby intersection.

Investigators were looking at alcohol as possibly being a factor in why the man crossed the road against traffic, Ogden police Sgt. John Thomas said. The driver who hit the man was following the speed limit and was not impaired, Thomas said.

The identity of the man has not yet been released, pending family notification.

Wall Avenue was closed in both directions at 25th Street for several hours, but has since reopened, according to KSL Traffic Center.
