SALT LAKE CITY — A new fire is burning in central Utah, state fire officials said Tuesday evening.
The Foothill Fire is burning in an area northwest of Holden, in Millard County. Fire officials say it's burned 150 acres and is growing, though its progress has been slowed with the help of federal, state and volunteer fire crews.
Elsewhere, the Dollar Ridge Fire burning in Duchesne and Wasatch counties is 50 percent contained and had burned more than 52,000 acres as of Tuesday morning. Officials with the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office officials say 74 homes have been destroyed by the wildfire, which remains the largest of several burning around the state.
