PLEASANT GROVE — There are few better ways to feel a rush of pride for the United States of America than by watching a video of the Star-Spangled Banner soaring above a beautiful mountain.

And that's just what you'll see in this video, until the rather abrupt ending, that is.

In honor of the Fourth of July, the group Follow the Flag took their quarter-acre sized American flag (known as "Big Betsy") up Grove Creek Canyon in Pleasant Grove where it hung between peaks until Monday morning. The enormous flag was a beautiful sight to behold, and droner Richard Holdman took advantage of the opportunity to capture footage showing off the soaring and patriotic view.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

Unfortunately, things didn't go quite as planned. As the drone pans across Utah Valley, majestic music plays and you think all is going well. And then, CRASH. The drone tumbles several times and the added sound effects will make you feel like you're rolling down the mountainside right along with it. All in all, the video is pretty dramatic.

Luckily, no one was hurt by this droning incident and the drone itself sustained very little damage. It's a good reminder to fly safely, though, and if you'd like to see more views of the flag captured by Holdman (with no surprise crashes), check them out here.
