CEDAR CITY — A 21-year-old man died after an early-morning crash on I-15 near Cedar City Wednesday, officials said.
Joshua Caruso, of Orderville, was driving south on I-15 about 2:50 a.m. when he suddenly swerved out of his lane and into an area under construction where he hit a large sweeper truck, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Caruso's vehicle was traveling about 70 mph when it collided with the back of the truck, causing the 21-year-old to suffer fatal injuries, Utah Highway Patrol said. Caruso was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The driver of the truck was uninjured.
The cause of the crash has not yet been released and is under investigation.
