OGDEN — A 49-year-old man is in critical condition after colliding with a semitruck in Ogden Monday afternoon, officials said.

The man was driving an older minivan near 5600 W. 1150 South a little before noon when he crossed over the center line of the road and hit the truck just behind the cab, according to Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Matt Jensen.

It took emergency personnel 30 minutes to extricate the man from the car. He was flown in critical condition to Ogden Regional Hospital in a medical helicopter, Jensen said. He is currently in stable condition, according to a Facebook post from Weber Fire District.

The driver of the semitruck was not injured.

The reason the driver of the minivan crossed over the center line is still under investigation, according to Jensen.

The driver's identity has not yet been released.
