ST. GEORGE — St. George police are asking for the public's help to locate a woman missing since Wednesday.

Amanda Matthews, 23, was last seen near the Tuweap Trailhead where her car was found, according to St. George Police Sgt. Sean Sparks.

Matthews frequently hikes on her own, a family member told police. They are unsure if she was well-prepared to hike when she went missing Wednesday, Sparks said.

She is described as 5-feet 8-inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes. A description of the clothing she was wearing when she was last seen was not available.

Matthews is considered endangered because she takes medication which she may not have with her, according to Sparks.

Anyone with information should call dispatch at 435-627-4300.
