CASTLE DALE, Emery County — A man whose body was recovered Monday in the Swinging Bridge area near Buckhorn Wash was remembered by friends online for his humor and love for adventure.
Luke Eugene Noone, 48, died as a result of falling, Emery County sheriff’s spokeswoman Janalee Luke said. Records show Noone most recently lived in East Carbon but had ties to Price.
Noone was reported missing from his camp Monday morning after he told a friend he was going for a hike around midnight Monday morning, according to the Emery County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities said Noone’s body was later located in rugged terrain and recovered by a rescue helicopter.
Friends of Noone quickly turned to social media to mourn him. They recalled his humor and his love for the outdoors.
“Luke was such a great guy. He loved going camping and hiking,” one person wrote. “He will be really missed.”
A GoFundMe page* was also set up for Noone to cover funeral costs.
