HARRISVILLE — One man has died in a crash involving a car and a motorcycle on Highway 89, authorities said.

The crash took place near the intersection of 2000 North and Highway 89, according to Weber County dispatchers. Harrisville Police Chief Max Jackson said the motorcyclist involved in the crash was killed.

The male rider was driving north on Highway 89, and a white PT Cruiser was making a left turn in front of him, Jackson said. The motorcyclist hit the back end of the PT Cruiser, he said.

Traffic in both directions of Highway 89 was being affected after the crash, Utah Department of Transportation officials said on Twitter. The scene had been cleared up as of 5:30 p.m., according to the agency's website.

No other information about the crash was immediately available.
