THE WILD — Sometimes, nature is really relatable. If you don't believe me, watch this video.
The video was posted to Facebook Friday and shows a pair of lynxes standing in a road screaming at each other. After being posted, it quickly went viral (and had more than 10 million as of Wednesday afternoon), because if we as a society can appreciate anything, it's unusual animals doing unusual things.
Personally, as I watched this video all I could think was, "Same, lynxes, same." Who among us hasn't felt like standing in the road and letting out some shrieks from time to time? Sometimes life is really hard, and we've gotta let that out, you know? These lynxes probably felt a lot of sorrow over all the hardships in the world and were expressing their emotions in a healthy way. It's self-care.
OK, maybe that is not actually what these lynxes were doing. I can't speak lynx and I'm no lynx mind-reader, so I wouldn't want to assume anything. But before you tell me that this is totally normal lynx behavior, look at this.
A BuzzFeed News reporter tweeted that she reached out to a zoologist to see what was up with this video that we all love so much. Kim, the zoologist from Aurora Wildlife Research, responded that yes, lynxes make these types of noises, but the circumstances surrounding this video are still unusual.
Cool, that makes it seem like my theory is, in fact, plausible. Sort of. Either way, this video is amazing and weird and you will absolutely not regret watching it.
