PROVO — A motorcyclist has died after a Saturday morning crash in Provo, police said.

The crash took place about 11:35 a.m. near the intersection of 820 North and 900 East, Provo Police Sgt. Nisha King said.

The motorcyclist, a 25-year-old man, was driving north on 900 East when he collided with a silver car that was driving west on 820 North, King said. The car was crossing 900 East when the crash took place, she said.

The man, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown off his motorcycle, King said. He was taken to Utah Valley Hospital but later died from his injuries.

She did not release the man’s name because his family members were still being notified. 900 East was briefly closed following the crash, but had been reopened as of 2:45 p.m.
