SALINA — Two 12-year-old children were injured in an ATV accident in Sevier County on Saturday, officials said.

The crash took place just before 6 p.m. at the Monkey Tail riding area east of Salina, Salina City Police officials reported on Facebook.

The two kids were riding an ATV and were not wearing helmets or other protective riding gear, according to police. The ATV rolled on top of both of the children, police said.

One girl was flown in a medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. Another child was taken to a local hospital, police said. Their conditions were not immediately known.

“For the love of your family, friends and this small town, please always wear a helmet and other protective gear while riding,” Salina City Police officials said on Facebook.
