1. 19 soldiers of Utah National Guard honored for acts of valor in combat

For acts of bravery — from using their own bodies to shield injured comrades to disregarding their own wounds to return fire — 19 soldiers of a special forces unit of the Utah National Guard on Sunday were awarded for their valor during a 2017 deployment to Afghanistan.

2. Officials identify man who died after being hit by multiple cars on I-15

Officials identified a man Sunday who died after crashing his car on I-15, running out of the car and ultimately getting struck by several vehicles as Ismail Ibrahim Hissein Abdallah, 22.

3. Bridge collapse victim's uncle rages at 'incompetence'

Authorities confirmed six people were killed when an unfinished pedestrian bridge fell onto a busy six-lane road connecting the campus to the community of Sweetwater. Crews removed two cars Saturday morning and said they found three bodies, but officials said there were still at least two more victims beneath the rubble. Later in the day they recovered a third car, and Saturday night they said they believed all victims had been found.

4. Students walk to support the plight of the undocumented

Shouting chants like, "Say it loud, say it clear, refugees are welcome here!" and "Up, up with immigration — down, down with deportation!" hundreds of students and pro-immigration advocates braved the cold and wet snow on Saturday morning to voice their support for the scores of Utah residents in immigration limbo.

5. Police: Man arrested after ramming police car, threatening officers in West Valley City

A man was arrested on Friday evening after police say he rammed an officer’s car, made threats to officers and was violent with his girlfriend.

Police arrested Niko Austin Martinez, 23, after the crash.

1. Utah Jazz beat Sacramento Kings 103-97 for 9th straight win

Donovan Mitchell scored 28 points, and the Jazz beat the Sacramento Kings 103-97 on Saturday night for their ninth straight victory.

Rudy Gobert had 22 points and 13 rebounds for Utah, and Ricky Rubio added 14 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The Jazz (40-30) won for the 21st time in their last 23 games.

2. Rusnak, Rimando help 'snow team' Real Salt Lake hold off Red Bulls in downpour

Rusnak gave the home side a 1-0 advantage just four minutes into the match, and Nick Rimando made it stand up in leading Salt Lake to a win over the visiting New York Red Bulls, 1-0 at Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy.

3. Utah annihilates Georgia with season-highs on senior night

Fourth-ranked Utah gymnastics annihilated No. 20 Georgia, 198.15-196.35, in its regular-season finale, exploding out of a two-meet losing streak.

4. No. 16 UMBC stuns No. 1 Virginia 74-54 to make NCAA history

It finally happened — a 16 ousting a 1 in March Madness.

The University of Maryland-Baltimore County stunned the college basketball world by pulling off the most shocking upset in men's NCAA Tournament history, hammering Virginia 75-54 on Friday night to become the first No. 16 seed ever to beat a No. 1 seed.

5. Utah pro rugby squad blends local, international standouts for inaugural season

Utah has been a hotbed for rugby in the United States, both on the high school scene with Highland and other national competitors and collegiately at BYU and Utah.
