THE STUDIO — Recently I did something I personally thought was pretty amazing. A multitasking feat of incredible proportions that was so impressive I had to write it down in my journal that day. I haven't even written about my wedding day or my kids' births, but this earned it.
I was eating a chicken wing with one hand while typing an email with the other, telling my son to stop smothering his baby sister in his Minions blanket, nodding to my wife in a fruitless effort to actually pay attention to what she was telling me, all while I had an old episode of "Seinfeld" playing on the TV.
As it turns out, this was not impressive in the least. I now know this thanks to this video of guitarist Alexandr Misko playing a cover of a-ha's classic "Take On Me." This video also helped me realize I'm a terrible husband and father.
Misko manages to play all the parts to this song on one guitar all at the same time. My mind is reeling from trying to understand what is actually happening as his fingers move at the speed of light and his face seems as calm as a summer's morn.
Yesterday's Have You Seen This?
Honestly, I'm using weird words to describe this because I don't know how to. No matter what I do in life from a talent perspective it will pale in comparison to this, so I realize, "Why even try?"
Instead of trying I'm going to write things like, "summer's morn," and just assume you stopped reading a long time ago to watch the video, which you should have.
Stop reading, watch.
