WOODS CROSS — I'm not exactly known as someone who is great at "remaining calm."

I've been told that sometimes I "overreact" and "should not gasp several times a day at things I read on the internet." I disagree; I'm just out here living my true, authentic life, reacting to things as they come at me.

But I also acknowledge that I'm maybe not the best person to have around in tense situations, like say, driving down a highway after a massive snowstorm. Best to have people around who don't basically hyperventilate or need to clutch the steering wheel for dear life the whole time.

Fortunately, there are pros like Trent Nielsen out there who can handle winter driving conditions with no problems at all.

Nielsen sent us this video, which he said (despite the date on the actual video), took place Sunday in Woods Cross. Nielsen was driving down I-15 after one of the stormiest nights of the year. He was also pulling an 18-foot trailer with about 2,000 pounds in it behind his truck. And he was listening to Enya.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

In the dashcam footage, the road ahead looks pretty clear. Until suddenly, a car spins out right in front of Nielsen. Nielsen doesn't slam on the brakes, but just remains calm and is able to maneuver around the car without incident. It's a pretty cool moment and perfectly emphasized by Enya's soothing chorus.

Moments like these are common in Utah, and all too often they turn into crashes. Nielsen said he wanted to share this video as an example of what to do and what not to do on Utah freeways.

While I'll stick with my solution of just staying off the roads completely when it's stormy, everyone else can learn a little from Nielsen's video. Step one to avoiding disaster on wet roads: stay calm. If you need help doing so, it seems like a little Enya blasting through your speakers should do the trick.
