THE PLAYGROUND — When I was a kid, I played in my city's youth soccer league for exactly one season.

I was not good. I spent so much of the season so far away from the ball that my parents finally tried bribing me in hopes that this would motivate me and I'd be less scared of getting close to the action. I don't think it worked.

When the end of the season came, my team met up at the local pizza parlor for a somber party. We didn't have much to celebrate — the only goal we had scored the entire year had been on ourselves — but at least we were in good company. It was that day that I became a true millennial and was awarded my first and only participation trophy.

Fast forward to today and I'm still no great fan of soccer, but this video may have changed my mind.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

In the video, 10 cars and two excavators sit on a large grassy field along with an 8-foot soccer ball. The excavators act as goalies and the cars play a sort of bumper cars version of a soccer game. It looks really fun.

I'm not saying I'd be any better at this version of soccer than the normal version, but if you're willing to bribe me, I might just give it a try. Hey, throw in another participation trophy and I'll meet you out on the field right now. Just kidding.

Enjoy the video, but take note that this is probably dangerous, and I will not be trying it and neither should you.
