EVANSTON, Wyo. — A small plane crash near the Bear River left no survivors Sunday afternoon, officials report.

At around 3:10 p.m., a SOCATA TBM en route to the Evanston airport from Tulsa, Oklahoma crashed under unknown circumstances just north of Evanson near the Bear River, according to Ian Gregor, a spokesman with the Federal Aviation Administration.

The aircraft caught fire on its way down and burned upon impact.

Preliminary information suggests the airplane was carrying two passengers, Gregor said. It was not immediately clear where they were from.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.
