WEST VALLEY CITY — One man is dead and two were injured in a shooting Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
The two hospitalized were a teen boy and a man, who both sustained serious injuries after some sort of disagreement, West Valley police said.
Names and ages of those involved in the shooting were not released Tuesday. There was no immediate word on the extent of injuries.
"We're talking to witnesses at this point and gathering evidence in hopes we can piece together what exactly happened here," said Roxeanne Vainuku, West Valley police spokeswoman.
The shooting happened at 3500 W. Parkway Blvd. after 4 p.m, Vainuku said.
A woman who identified herself as a family member of the man who died said she couldn't make sense of what happened. She said there wasn't bad blood between those shot and the neighbor she believes is to blame for the violence.
Bonnie Vasquez, who also lives in the neighborhood, said she heard gunshots on a recent evening and is troubled by events just a few days apart.
Police still were searching for suspects late Tuesday and no arrests were made.
West Valley police were asking anyone with information on the case to call them at 801-840-4000.
