SARATOGA SPRINGS — A crash three miles south of Saratoga Springs temporarily closed Redwood Road in both directions Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at 4639 S. Redwood Road. Police responded to the scene shortly after 4 p.m., according to a tweet from the Utah Department of Transportation.
One person was killed in the crash, according to Saratoga Springs police spokesman David Johnson. One person was transported by ambulance in unknown condition to an area hospital. Officials did not immediately release the names or genders of those involved in the incident.
A power pole was knocked down, and Rocky Mountain Power crews responded to the scene, according to Johnson.
Redwood Road was closed in both directions for around two hours while power crews remove downed wires and police's major accident team conducts the investigation, according to City of Saratoga Springs officials via Twitter. Redwood Road was reopened shortly before 8 p.m.
