SANTA CLARA, Calif. — On a night when BYU couldn’t miss, it seemed that was all Santa Clara could do.

Yoeli Childs poured in 22 points and 13 rebounds, TJ Haws added 14 points and BYU turned in arguably its most complete game of the season in an 84-50 rout of host Santa Clara on Saturday night in West Coast Conference play.

"These guys all played so well individually and collectively," BYU coach Dave Rose said. "We played maybe our best game from beginning to end tonight."

Elijah Bryant added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Cougars (15-4, 4-2 WCC), and teammate Zac Seljaas supplied a season-high 11 points for a BYU squad that shot 62 percent from the field and held the Broncos to 34 percent.

Former Wasatch Academy standout Josip Vrankic had 20 points and seven rebounds to lead Santa Clara (6-12, 3-3 WCC).

Childs had 17 points, and BYU shot 79 percent in the first half en route to a 46-28 halftime lead.

The Cougars got scoring from seven different players, and leading scorer Bryant only took five shots; he was 3 of 5 from the field for points at the half.

BYU out-rebounded its WCC hosts 19-2 in the first half.

BYU cooled off in the second half — but so did the Broncos. The Cougars went on a 17-1 scoring run through the middle of the second half as Santa Clara made just two of its first 18 second-half field goals.

BYU returns home Thursday to face Loyola Marymount, followed by a weekend tilt with San Diego.
