SALT LAKE CITY — As temperatures continue to drop and the shopping malls get even busier, staying indoors and curling up with a loved one to watch your favorite Christmas movie sounds pretty darn ideal, doesn’t it?

Classics like "A Christmas Carol," "It’s a Wonderful Life" and "White Christmas" might come to mind. Or maybe you’re into the more modern Christmas “classics” like "Home Alone," "The Nightmare Before Christmas" or "Elf."

Whatever it is your Christmas spirit most desires, we need your help picking the ultimate Christmas flick.

For the next week, KSL.com is hosting a tournament to determine Utah’s favorite Christmas movie. We started the field with 32 movies and are now down to 16. We’re giving you until Sunday night to vote and help us narrow the field down to eight.

So, put on your favorite Christmas pajamas, grab some hot cocoa and get the fireplace going to put you in that Christmas movie mood — and don’t forget to vote!

Here they are, in no particular order, the sweet 16:

Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

The Santa Clause
