ST GEORGE — Police have identified the woman killed in a hit-and-run crash in St. George Saturday night.

Bettina Abraham, 53, of St. George, was struck around 680 N. Dixie Drive, near a Dairy Queen and BioLife plasma donation center, St. George police spokeswoman Lona Trombley said in a live broadcast on Facebook Monday evening.

Detectives are seeking to gather information about the vehicle in the crash that was reported about 8 p.m. No suspect has been identified.

In the live video, Trombley addressed the driver in the accident. She urged that person to come forward and speak to police so officers can determine what happened.

"This isn't going to go away," Trombley said, adding that police are seeking to help Abraham's family find closure. Investigators also want to speak with anyone who was in the area between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., she said.

Police have said it appeared that Abraham was pushing a cart on the east side of Dixie Drive at the time of the crash. Evidence suggested the vehicle sustained damage to its front but managed to leave the scene.

Police are encouraging anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver to call St. George dispatch at 435-627-4300.
