FARMINGTON — A Herriman man accused of trying to lure a 13-year-old girl into having sex with him has been charged.

Paul Erich Von Schirmacher, 38, was charged Thursday in 2nd District Court with enticing a minor, a second-degree felony; and two counts of dealing in harmful materials to a minor, a third-degree felony.

Starting on Oct. 6, Von Schirmacher "communicated by social media with an undercover officer that (he) thought was a 13-year-old girl," prosecutors said. He sent "multiple pictures of his genitals to the officer and arranged to meet the officer for sex," according to charging documents.

Von Schirmacher arranged a meeting in Farmington on Nov. 30, and he was arrested when he arrived, charges state.

An initial court appearance in the case is scheduled for Friday.
