WEST JORDAN — A woman already serving time in the Utah State Prison in a bizarre murder plot now faces an additional felony charge for lying under oath about having sexual relations with an adult when she was a juvenile.
Raven Blackwing, 25, was charged Tuesday in 3rd District Court for giving false or inconsistent marital statements, a second-degree felony.
Blackwing was one of Kain Blackwing's three wives, according to prosecutors.
In 2007, Raven Blackwing, when she was known as Madeline Baker, told a Salt Lake City police officer that she had sexual intercourse with Kain Blackwing when he was 38. But when Blackwing was later charged and went on trial for having sexual relations with underage females, Raven Blackwing told a court under oath that she did not have relations with Kain Blackwing until she was of legal age, according to charging documents.
Tuesday's charge is the latest in a long, complicated and sometimes bizarre saga involving Kain Blackwing.
Blackwing was charged in 2014 with forcible sexual abuse. The victim was a 14-year-old girl.
But four days before that girl was scheduled to testify against Blackwing in court, two women described as dressing like ninjas because they wore all black — including black masks and black latex gloves and who were armed with a variety of items including a stun gun, a knife, a large piece of Saran wrap, matches, a screwdriver, syringes, an arm tourniquet and formalin — broke into the West Jordan house where the girl was staying.
The two women, one of whom was Raven Blackwing, were stopped by the occupants of the house and held until police arrived. They were charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated assault and retaliation against a witness or victim, and later convicted. One woman was sentenced to probation, which she successfully completed. The other, Raven Blackwing, was sentenced to serve up to 15 years in the Utah State Prison.
Kain Blackwing's case continued and he was convicted of sexually abusing the young girl.
Then in 2015, he was charged with seven counts of rape, forcible sodomy and three counts of forcible sexual abuse. One of the victims in that case was Raven Blackwing, whom prosecutors said lied under oath. He was convicted in that case on Aug. 3 and scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 19.
Prosecutors say Kain Blackwing claimed to have three wives who he forced them to refer to him as "Lord," according to court documents.
Then in February, Blackwing was charged with plotting to kill a 14-year-old girl whom he was convicted of sexually abusing. A pretrial conference for that case was scheduled for Oct. 17.
