SARATOGA SPRINGS — Rocky Mountain Power crews worked to restore service after more than 18,000 customers lost power at one point Tuesday morning.
By 9:45 a.m., power was out to 293 customers, according to the company's website. That number was down from over 18,000 earlier in the morning. The majority of those affected throughout the morning were in Utah County, including Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, Lehi and Orem.
Other scattered outages were reported elsewhere along the Wasatch Front.
The outages may have been caused by a lightning strike that affected two substations, the company said.
Alpine School District said the outages did not delay or postpone school in its district.
Power back up in Lehi and parts of Saratoga. Power is still out in Eagle Mountain. Expecting delays in busing. Schools will be open.
