OGDEN — Police are investigating what they are calling an attempted homicide after someone fired multiple shots at an Ogden home, hitting a woman asleep inside.

Police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 300 28th Street just after midnight Sunday, according to a statement from the Ogden Police Department.

Officers found a home that had been hit by multiple gunshots. A 47-year-old woman sleeping on a bed inside the home was struck by one of the bullets.

She was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area or who may have information to contact them at detectives@ogdencity.com or call detective Travis Gerfen at 801-629-8477.
