West Bountiful Police Chief Todd Hixson said the search for John Page was called off Sunday night.

Page’s family posted on Facebook late Sunday night thanking those who have searched for Page.

“We believe that he is where he wants to be! He was a cowboy at heart and loved the mountains. We know that he is in a much better place but believe that he is at peace out there on that mountain!” the family wrote in the post.

Page was last seen at a Maverik gas station in Centerville on July 24. His [vehicle was found](https://www.ksl.com/?sid=45222325&nid=148) near the Tooele and Box Elder county line on Friday, Tooele police Lt. Ron Johnson said.
