DEWEYVILLE, Box Elder County — A woman died and a man was critically injured after crashing a motorcycle in Deweyville Saturday evening.

The man was driving the motorcycle with the woman south on state Route 38 about 6:15 p.m. when a car traveling north made a left-hand turn in front of the motorcycle, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.

When the motorcycle struck the right front corner of the car, both the driver and passenger flew off the bike and hit the car and road, troopers said.

The woman on the motorcycle sustained severe head injuries, troopers said. Both she and the driver were transported to a hospital in Tremonton. The woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. Her name has not yet been released.

The man driving the motorcycle was later flown to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden in critical condition.

The driver of the passenger car was not injured, UHP said.
