SALT LAKE CITY — Summer is in full swing throughout Utah. With the warm weather comes pleny of outdoor activities and opportunities to enjoy your community.

Here are a few things to do before saying goodbye to summer and hello to school and fall.

Northern Utah

Aug. 4: Tour of Utah

Davis County will be hosting the start and finish line of the fifth stage of the week- long bike race, Tour of Utah — named after the Tour de France. The race begins at 9 a.m. at Layton Commons Park, 437 N. Wasatch Dr. in Layton, and will end around 2 p.m. at Main Street and Center Street in Bountiful. More information on the race can be found on the website.

Aug. 5: Ogden Pride Festival

The Ogden Pride Festival will feature live entertainers, exhibit booths and more on Historic 25th Street in downtown Ogden. The festival is free and begins at noon and will continue through the evening.

Aug. 6 - 27: Free concerts at Snowbasin

Snowbasin Resort is hosting its fifth "Blues, Brews and BBQ" summer concert series, running every Sunday through August and September. The free celebrations start at noon and feature three musicians. Snowbasin is located in Huntsville at 3925 Snow Basin Road.

Aug. 9 - 12: Weber County Fair

The Weber County Fair features concerts, multiple rodeos, a demolition derby and more. The fair will kick off with a rodeo held from 7-10 p.m. at the Golden Spike Event Center, 1000 N. 1200 West in Ogden. Admission can be purchased at the gate and range from $2-$18. Kids ages five and under get in for free. The fair is located at 1000 N. 1200 West in Ogden and is open from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., with the barn opening at 6 a.m.

Salt Lake Area

Now - Aug. 3: Twilight Concert Series

The annual Twilight Concert Series is taking place at Salt Lake City’s Pioneer Park, 400 S. 400 West. Various artists, including the Roots, Phoebe Bridgers and more, are performing now through the end of August. Times and tickets can be found online.

Aug. 2 - Aug. 5: Salt Lake County Fair

The Salt Lake County Fair will be at 2100 West 11400 South. The Circle J Rodeo and KSL Night will be Thursday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. Friday enjoy the Joe Diffie concert at 6 p.m. Monster Trucks will hit the arena Saturday at 6 p.m.

Aug. 4 - 5: St. Patrick’s Annual Carnival Fundraiser

This family-friendly carnival features ethnic food, live entertainment, games, contests, prizes, beer and more. Entry to the carnival is free. The fundraiser is located at St. Patrick’s Parish, 1058 W. 400 South in Salt Lake City.

Aug. 5: Blue Moon Festival

This free event features live performances from local musicians, artists and artisans. Freshly made food will also be available. The festival takes place from 3 - 10 p.m. at the Holladay City Hall Park, 4580 S. 2300 East in Salt Lake City.

Aug. 5: Salt Lake City Tacofest

Tacos, beer, giveaways and music will be available to the public from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. at the Mexican Civic Center, 155 S. 600 West in South Salt Lake. Adult tickets cost $5 and kids can enter for free. An ID is needed to purchase alcohol. Sunscreen is recommended.

Aug. 11-13: Craft Lake City DIY Festival

Salt Lake City’s ninth annual do-it-yourself festival will be taking place at 239 S. Main St. The festival will include vintage vendors, artisans, craft foodies, DIY engineers, kids crafts and activities, food, restaurants, exhibits and more.

Festival hours are the following:

• Aug 11 - 5 p.m.-10 p.m.
• Aug 12 - Noon-10 p.m.
• Aug 13 - Noon-7 p.m.

Aug. 12: Snowbird’s Oktoberfest

Snowbird's Okotberfest begins Aug. 12 and will be held every Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 15. The event celebrates German culture and features a large number of ethnic food, live music, games and activities for the family. Parking costs $5. The event is open from noon - 6 p.m.

Aug. 19 - 20: Utah Beer Festival

Utah’s eighth annual and largest beer festival doubles as a fundraiser for Utah’s Humane Society. Brews, ciders, live music, food vendors, games and more will be available at the Utah State Fair, 155 N. 1000 West in Salt Lake City. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.

Festival times are the following:

• Aug. 19: 2-8 p.m.
• Aug. 20: 1-7 p.m.

Hogle Zoo, 2600 Sunnyside Ave., is hosting a Zoo Brew for adults from 6:30 - 9 p.m. All proceeds go toward helping endangered animals, with August dedicated to endangered gorillas. Admission is $14.95. Dinner and snack options will be available for purchase. Attendees must be 21 and older to enter.

Aug. 26 - 27: UMFA Reopening

The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is having a free party open to the public to celebrate their reopening. The event will include curator talks, tours, art making, films, yoga, dance parties and more. A list of times and events can be found online.

Utah County

Now - Aug. 5: Springville World Folkfest

Three hundred traditional folk dances and music will occur daily at the Springville Arts Park, 620 S. 1350 East in Springville. Performers come from countries all over the world to perform dances from their native countries. Tickets can be purchased online and range from $5 - $30. Children ages 3 and under are free.

Now - Aug. 5: Santaquin Orchard Days

Parades, movies, bounce houses, food and craft vendors, tours, derbies and more will be at the Santaquin Orchard days. It will be held the first week of August in Santaquin. A full list of events and locations can be found online.

Now - Aug. 12: "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"

The Sundance Mountain Resort Summer Theatre is currently hosting the popular musical, "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" with the last performance on Aug. 12. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $24 - $38. The theater is located at 8841 N. Alpine Loop Road in Sundance. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the play starts at 8 p.m.

Now - Aug. 19: Provo Missionary Training Center open house

Kelly Mills knows the Provo Missionary Training Center is not intended as the ultimate destination for the tens of thousands of Mormon missionaries who pass through it each year.

Tickets are available for the public to attend a guided walking tour of the new expansion to the Provo Missionary Training Center. Tours are about an hour long, and tickets are free on a first-come-first-served basis. Tours dates and tickets can be found online.

Aug. 4: Payson Salmon Supper

The 63rd Annual Payson Salmon Supper will be held at Payson City Memorial Park, 300 S. Main St. Grilled salmon, baked potatoes, corn on the cob and more will be sold for $16 per plate. A ticket order form must be filled in beforehand.

Aug. 4 - 12: Alpine City Days

Sports, art, music, storytelling, parades, chalk art, car and pet shows and more are just a few of the activities taking place at the Alpine City Days. The event is free and will take place at different times and locations. A full list and schedule of events can be found online.

Aug. 5: Wasatch Wellness Run

The Provo Canyon Behavioral Hospital is hosting its 10th annual Wasatch Wellness Run, located at 2119 E. Provo Canyon Road in Provo. Winners of the 10K and 5K races will receive cash prizes. A breakfast will be served to runners, and a family fun fair will be available to people of all ages.

Aug. 5: Run 4 Refugees

This 5K and 10K race to raise awareness about refugees begins at 8 a.m. at Sky Ridge High School, 3000 N. Center St. in Lehi. Runners can register online.

Aug. 5: Eagle Mountain Street Fair

Over 100 local businesses will be available for shopping at Eagle Mountain’s Street Fair, located on Peregrine Road. Arts, crafts, food, clothing, books, furniture and other products will be available for purchase from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Aug. 11-12: Johnston’s Army Adventure Camp

Twenty-one spots are open for Boy Scouts ages 11 and up to participate in the hands-on adventure at Johnston’s Army Adventure Camp. Scouts will learn to shoulder a musket, wear army-issued uniforms and complete other activities related to the 1800s. Camp fees are $25 per person and include all camp materials and breakfast. Registration must be done in advance.

Aug. 16-19: Utah County Fair

The Utah County Fair will be held at the Spanish Fork Fairgrounds and feature a monster truck show, a demolition derby, a talent show and concerts by Gary Allan, Lauren Alaina and Raelynn. Tickets start at $8.

Festival hours are the following:

• Aug 16 - 4 p.m.-10 p.m.
• Aug 17-19 - 10 a.m.-10 p.m.

Tickets are now available to attend Brigham Young University’s education week, a program for people ages 14 and older. Participants can take classes on arts, history, marriage and family, religion, education, communication and more. A full list of classes and times can be found online.

Central Utah

Aug. 17-19: Manti Mountain ATV-UTV Run

People have the chance to ride their ATVs through Manti’s canyons for a 6 to 12 mile ride on Aug. 17-19. Free breakfast and dinner is available to registrants. The event is located at 200 N. 400 West. Participants can register online.

Aug. 23-26: Beaver County Fair

Races, exhibits, contests, fishing demolition derbies, prizes, food, music, dancing and more will be held at the Beaver County Fair. The event is free to the public. Times and locations for events can be found online.

Southern Utah

Now-Aug. 31: Utah Shakespeare Festival

Tickets are available to see a wide variety of plays during Cedar City’s Utah Shakespeare Festival, 300 W. Center St. Plays include "Shakespeare in Love," "Romeo and Juliet," "Guys and Dolls," "As You Like It" and more. Some plays extend through October. Tickets can be purchased online.

Aug. 5-12: Kane County Fair

Parades, games, bounce houses, zip lines, exhibits, contests, dancing, concerts, displays and much more will take place at this weeklong event. The fair is free to the public, and a full list of events and their locations can be found online.

Aug. 26: Bryce Canyon car show

This event will feature cars, planes, pulled pork meals, trophies and live music starting at 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and is located at the Bryce Canyon Airport.

Eastern Utah

Aug. 3-5: Emery County Fair

The Emery County Fair will be honoring fallen veterans as part of its "Heros Never Forgotten Tribute Concert" taking place the evening of Aug. 5. Water games, horseshoe tournaments, drag races games, dance competitions, food and more activities for adults and children alike will also be available during this county fair. The event is free to the public.

Aug. 4-5: Spring City Bluegrass Festival

Various bluegrass musicians will be performing as part of this two-day event in Spring City at 150 E. Center. Tickets will be available to purchase in advance.

Aug. 14-20: Wayne County Fair

Food and craft vendors, live music and more will be part of this “small town throwdown.” The event takes place daily at the Loa Town Park from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Aug. 27: Castle Country Century Bike Ride

This 101-mile ride will begin at Scofield State Park. Registration must be completed beforehand and costs $55. The ride will begin at 6:30 a.m.
