SOUTH SALT LAKE — Search and rescue crews responded to the Jordan River after a report of a child in the water Wednesday evening.

Early in the evening, a truck driver was driving eastbound on 3900 South and believed he saw a child in the Jordan River, Keller said. When the driver turned around on the bridge he did not see the child again, became concerned and called 911. Multiple police and fire agencies were on the scene at 3911 S. Jordan River Parkway Trail shortly after.

The truck driver told officials the child had blonde hair and was wearing a red shirt, Keller said.

Multiple agencies assisted with the search but as of 10:30 p.m., there were no reports of missing children filed, Unified police said.

Crews ended the search for the night around 10:45 p.m.

"After a thorough search and no other actionable information coming in, (search and rescue teams) will be concluding for the night," Unified police said.

They later confirmed they would not continue the search unless new information arises.
