Store owners help victim

Casey G.

“Recently my ID was stolen out of the mail. Thankfully, some people who own a pawn shop in Murray happened to notice someone who had come into the store to pawn (something) with my ID that I never received from the DMV. … They are amazing nice people who own that store. I would love to see them get just a good 'thank you' for being decent people and reporting the issue to Murray City police. … It’s not every day people look out for others they don’t know.”

Giving instead of receiving

Madison A.

“A while back, my family and I were just leaving Walmart when a man approached us. He started by telling us it was his birthday and I immediately thought he was out for money. He then said he wanted to give instead of receive, and called over his two children who each gave my children a gift. It was so uplifting to see someone out teaching such kindness to their children and (see those children) so happy to give.”

Sharing good fortune with others

“I recently went to a Utah Jazz playoff game against the Clippers. My wife and I excitedly took our seats on a foldout chair at the very top of the arena, (on the) top row of the upper bowl. It was a great first half. We were just standing there at halftime when two people walked up and asked if we came with just the two of us, which we did.

“The gentleman said their seats had been messed up, and to make it right, the Jazz employees gave them two available seats midcourt on the 10th row. They enjoyed the game in the first half and just wanted someone else to enjoy the second half just as much. They offered to switch us seats at the top row of the upper bowl for their 10th-row, lower bowl seats. No strings attached! Total strangers just being awesome!

“I was a bit caught off guard but accepted the trade-off, and we had amazing seats the second half. These people had no clue who we were, but did such a nice thing. I will always remember their kindness, and it does make me think about doing nice things for others more to pay it forward.”
