HOME — When you get home after a long day, there’s nothing like being greeted by a loved one.

When I worked nights for a while (thanks, KSL!) my cat, Atticus, used to wait on the back of the couch and would start meowing as soon as I’d turn the key and step through the threshold. Even though my husband was fast asleep (and who could blame him — it was usually after midnight) it was nice having a mini reception after an eight-hour shift and long commute.

Now, we generally think of cats and dogs as giving the warm welcomes when people get home from work (OK, I guess kids, too), but what other affectionate farm animals are we overlooking?

Who knew donkeys could be so excitable?

In a particular adorable video credited to Eli Ralston, a donkey freaks out at the sight of a young girl who comes to the fence to visit. And it doesn’t stop there.

Yesterday's Have You Seen This?

The braying (which is the perfect onomatopoeic noise for the sound donkeys make) gets more subdued as the beast of burden is able to nuzzle the girl’s neck and have the affection reciprocated.

I don’t know, we may have been animal heavy over the last few days here at Have You Seen This, but how do you not love the sights (and sounds) of a snuggly donkey?
