SALT LAKE CITY — Dereck James "DJ" Harrison, already serving a lengthy sentence for the kidnapping of a woman and her four daughters, was extradited to Wyoming on Tuesday to await an initial court hearing for his alleged role in the kidnapping and killing of a Utah Transit Authority employee last year.

Harrison, 23, was transported from the Utah State Prison to the Lincoln County (Wyoming) Jail, said that county's attorney, Spencer Allred. His initial hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday at the Circuit Court of the 3rd Judicial District in Kemmerer, Wyoming.

Harrison, of Bountiful, was charged in Wyoming last year with murder in the first-degree — and could face the death penalty if convicted — for his alleged part in kidnapping UTA employee Kay Ricks from a Salt Lake City TRAX stop on May 12, 2016, driving him to Wyoming against his will in his UTA truck and later killing him. Harrison's father, Flint Wayne Harrison, was also charged with murder in the first degree.

Both Harrisons were being sought by police at the time following the kidnapping of a Clinton woman and her four teenage daughters inside a Centerville home on May 10.

DJ Harrison pleaded guilty in September to five counts of aggravated kidnapping and was sentenced to 30 years to life behind bars at the Utah State Prison. Flint Harrison killed himself July 25 inside a Davis County Jail cell before either of his cases reached a conclusion.
